Formalin fixing tissues ensures that the specimen will not decompose over time. Great for the up-most curious minds. Services available for educational and personal purposes. Dissection is also an available option for an additional cost.

Chronic wasting disease (CWD) is a prion disease that affects deer, elk, reindeer, sika deer and moose. It has been found in some areas of North America, including Canada and the United States, Norway and South Korea. It may take over a year before an infected animal develops symptoms, which can include drastic weight loss (wasting), stumbling, listlessness and other neurologic symptoms. CWD can affect animals of all ages and some infected animals may die without ever developing the disease. CWD is fatal to animals and there are no treatments or vaccines.

The oxidation method uses a chemical process to clean flesh off a skeleton. This will keep ligaments and other small tissues in place.

Oxidation is a good preservation method for any private or public party looking for a piece meant to be displayed.

From an educational standpoint, this would be great for Osteology students and practitioners. For private parties, these can make amazing conversation pieces and will appease the curiosity crowd.

We do offer to mount the oxidized specimen to a wooden base for an extra cost.
